Is school a difficult situation?  Do you find that you or your child does well with life, but struggles in school?  There IS a solution.  You have discovered help.  I am Laurie Wellman, MA, BS, a 20-year veteran in teaching, tutoring and counseling.  I work on an individual basis with students who are discouraged with learning.   I view school as a wonderful world of possibilities - it should never be a place of dread. Whether your student attends public or private school or is taught at home, I can offer the expertise needed to improve a student's attitude so that he or she looks forward to learning as a positive challenge.

Classroom teachers who work with dozens of students at once can't always afford the time to offer each student personal attention.  The student who struggles with understanding and organization often gets left behind. My customized program starts with building self-esteem and motivation. My goal is to open your child's mind as I introduce new habits and tools to encourage learning.  I am a support and coach during the school year and offer retention services in the summer.
